Current Foster Dog
Ana(pronounced Ah-na) is a purebred, female Alaskan Malamute who is 1.5 years old. She was surrendered to Sophie’s Circle Dog Rescue after her previous owner became allergic to her. Ana was in a foster home before ours for less than a day; one of the foster’s dogs kept attacking her so she has been placed in our home.
She has a very sweet personality and will gently nudge your hand to pet her. She is cat friendly(she could care less about our cats, but was a little skittish of them at first). With slow introductions, I think she could do well in a home with other dogs; but she does have food aggression towards other animals(not people).
Ana rides well in the car, but needs a little help getting in. She only knows the “sit” command, so we are working with her to learn more.
Ana hasn’t had an exam or vaccines since she was a small puppy, according to her records. She is microchipped though. She also came with an AKC certificate. Sophie’s Circle will have her vetted soon to make sure she is healthy and up to date. Once she is given a clean bill of health, she will be available for adoption.
